On the way back from Myrtle Beach, we stopped in Charleston, South Carolina. Lovely place. I think it’s lovelier than Savannah. This is their famous pineapple fountain, with a little girl swimming inside. Children add such magic and mystery to everything.
Three girls stopped by to see my sketchbook and were so thrilled to see my year’s worth of watercolors. They made me feel so good, that I told them I would give them one each for free. Their mothers were so happy that they couldn’t accept them unless they paid for them.
It was such a great boost of spirits. Those girls helped me get my mojo back and realize why I love doing what I do. A little bit of appreciation really goes a long way with us sensitive artists.
